Apple Watch caught 51 percent offer of a record 18 million smartwatch shipments worldwide in the final quarter of 2018, another report has said.

The worldwide smartwatch shipments hit a record-breaking high of 45 million units in 2018, said the statistical surveying firm Strategy Analytics on Wednesday.

Apple dispatched 9.2 million smartwatches all inclusive in Q4 2018 - rising 18 percent from 7.8 million units in Q4 2017.

At second spot, Samsung transported 2.4 million smartwatches worldwide and caught 13 percent worldwide offer, rising emphatically from five percent piece of the overall industry a year back.

"Apple's worldwide smartwatch piece of the pie slipped to 51 percent this quarter, down from 67 percent a year prior. Apple Watch is losing piece of the pie to Samsung and Fitbit, whose rival smartwatch portfolios and retail nearness have improved altogether in the previous year," said Neil Mawston, Executive Director at Strategy Analytics.

Fitbit caught 13 percent worldwide smartwatch piece of the overall industry in Q4 2018, tripling from four percent in Q4 2017.

"Consolidated together, Apple, Samsung, Fitbit and Garmin are the enormous four players, representing 8 out of 10 of all smartwatches delivered around the world," Mawston included.

As indicated by Steven Waltzer, Industry Analyst at Strategy Analytics, Samsung is by and by the world's second biggest smartwatch brand.
